Yums

Alright so this Thursday night I'm going to a team party at my friends house and everyone was kind of asked to pitch in on some of the food. We're going to be eating hamburgers and I'm not quite sure what to bring. I'm thinking of doing both an appetizer and a dessert, simple stuff (you can never go wrong with too much food). Here's what I had in mind.
I'm a sweet, salty, sweet person. These both look heavenly.

Classy Grandma Love

Unfortunately my grandma is moving next Sunday to keep my grandpa company in Mexico City. Neither sides of the family live close by so I'm a bit upset she's leaving, it's nice having family over especially now that my brothers are both away. I understand why she has to leave though, I just hope she can come back soon. But since she is the shopaholic of the family (and an expensive one) she's leaving with more than she can carry meaning she has been giving me some lovely goodies! Not going to lie either... my grandma has better taste than I do, here's what she left me yesterday!
A BCBG gold clutch,
my first thing Chanel,
an amazing mascara,
and some Michael Kors perfume but I'm not much of a perfume girl, and I'm not a fan of pink so my mom nabbed this one.

:/

I haven't written in one whole week! A simple life has now become quite complicated, well not really complicated, just busy. My apologies for the absence, the weekend has saved me and I will be posting for the next 48 hours... starting later tonight.

Fresh from Milan

The Italians are officially in town! My aunt and uncle flew in last night and shortly after a house party formed. Family and friends gathered in the kitchen along with seven, now empty, bottles of wine and very stinky cheeses from lovely Italia. We all drank and ate as conversations filled the room. Soon enough the men began smoking their stogies outside while the women remained indoors drinking vino and discussing politics. Then it was off to bed! Now, a new day greets us and we're off to explore Coconut Groves annual art festival. I will be more than happy to share photos once the weekend is over. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Spring Cleaning!

Is it too early to call it spring cleaning? Would it be politically correct if I say winter cleaning? ... you get the gist of it, I've been cleaning! My aunt and uncle are coming into town from Italy, they live in a cute little town just outside of Milan and I rarely get to visit them but when I do I have a blast. I haven't seen them in a while so I'm very excited. They come in Friday around 5:30 pm and once we've said our hello's and they've gotten settled we're taking them to a delicious burger joint in the Grove called Lokal. Honestly, these burgers are incredible. Anyway, I'm cleaning before they get here-which means no more Mr. Nice Guy! I'm literally getting rid of everything that "annoys" me. So far, I have one big bag and another one forming. I LOVE CLEANING! Getting rid of things is kind of sad 'cause, you know, memories, but once it's gone it feels SO good. Don't get me wrong, I keep the sentimental things but sometimes you've just gotta get rid of the pink, green, and red skirt grandma bought you 3 years ago for Christmas... with the tags still on :/

Future home

I'm going to be living in Miami for the next 1-2 years and after that it's off to Boston! I'm very interested in finding an apartment though for at least 1 of the years I'll be here... I prefer to not live with my parents if it's possible. I've always loved NYC studios or Parisian flats but I've never really seen nice, affordable, modern apartments here in Miami. Of course, I'm looking for a small place (I can't afford the Jade or the Icon-both WAY out of my price range). I've been craigslisting and I've found a few places but none like SoHo or Wellington, they're all tacky and destroyed 50's styled apartments with rots and leaks. Why is it so difficult to find the perfect place, even if it is for as little as 2 years? :/ Maybe I'll just stay with my parents and save up so I can buy a place that looks like one of these in Boston!

Praise for the weekend

Finally! This week was truly exhausting and all of this Miami rain has been making me even more lethargic than usual. It feels so good to be home, wasting away on my couch plugged into the TV-no worries today. Want to know my favorite part of the weekend? Saturday breakfast and Sunday brunch! Mmmmmm to all things drenched in Vermont maple syrup and topped off with powdered sugar. Cheers to a great weekend! I hope you all enjoy yourselves :)

And the cutest Mad Men affair goes to... Harry Crane and Hildy, mainly because I'm in love with Harry Crane. Maybe it's the glasses or his adorable hair cut but there's just something about that cutie that makes me want him! If you've seen Mad Men, who's your favorite affair/couple? P.S. this picture is everything I love about the show in one, although it is missing Don Draper-ya gotta love the main guy.

Do it! Do it!

Pics are uppppp holla, holla! I'm spreading my internet seed. Yes, I'm aware that sounds weird but it's true. I started a new blog that consists only of my photos AND...yes, there's more! AND the photos from Saturday night, my first internship night, are up. Check 'em out if you love me...pleeease :/ (even if you don't, you still should). Here's da link so click on it! >>DO IT!<<

Netflix

What do you do once you've finished watching all of your favorite shows (the office, the tudors, sherlock)? Find another one to add to your list! It took me long enough but for the next two months I will be in the 60's... I welcome you, Mad Men, with open arms.

My bad

Okay I lied! I'm sorry, I completely forgot to fill you guys in on what was going on last night! Better late than never though, right? Here's the scoop. My oldest brother (who's four years older than me) had some pretty cool friends in high school and now they are quite the successful, creative geniuses. They formed a company to basically promote all different types of artists and it's called the Archetype Collective. Well they're becoming pretty popular around Florida, especially Miami, as well as NYC and some parts of California. Last night they threw a party in down town Miami at Grand Central promoting a band called the Politix, rapper Brenton Brown, and DJ artists like KUSTO, Alex Owens, and Patrick Ryan. As it turns out, I have the coolest brother because he called up his friends (without me knowing) and told them I was interested in interning for them as a photographer/videographer for their events around Miami. At the risk of not sounding cool...EEEEEEK! So that's where I was last night from 10-2 and that's why I was so excited yesterday. I am going today to get some photos developed, buy a USB, and upload all the digital pix. Of course I will share them with you here OR you all could just check out the site when they're posted up! AND just putting this out there, I'm in the process of making a tumblr with all my photos, so far it's just film and there isn't very many so I will post the link once it's all pretty and full of pictures! In the mean time CLICK on >>THIS<<!

Saturday music jams

My friends got a gig today at 1 pm and we're heading up to Ft. Lauderdale to set up around 11:30 am. For those of you who don't know, Ft. Laudie is about 45 minutes north of Miami. Anyway her bands got a set at The Next Big Thing Tour at Revolution, it's basically like a mini Warped Tour for local bands in Florida and I am heading up with them to enjoy the day outside, listening to some original music. I'm kind of excited because I love these guys, especially when they're together. After their set we'll head home around 2/2:30 just in time to return some disappointing high waisted shorts at Urban, check out Aldos new shoes, and then drive to Norka for some beige linen shorts and a flowy white button down for tonight. (I'll let you all know what I'm up to later, it's a surprise... kinda). Have a wonderful Saturday!

Presents

I just went out and got a bunch of new art supplies! It feels like Christmas all over again. I purchased a few more charcoal pencils (along with the special eraser this time), academy acrylics, a new brush, and a beautiful blank canvas... ahh, so many great things in one day.
