Head over heels

I've fallen in love with quite a few things since the last time I wrote. As you can tell, I fall fast and hard. I present to you: Ryan McGinley. I do admit his photos are very... naked but they're just as incredible as they are nude. Check him out! mcginley <---

Garage sale(ing). sailing?

Spent the day shopping for some classy junk. I just love other peoples things. I found some prettay cool stuff though, you know, for my future apartment*. Unfortunately though I am a terrible bargainer and probably payed for more than I should have but I'll learn. Let's see... I bought two Neil Young records, a clay moon to hang on my wall along with a beautiful portrait of a 'dracocephalum moldavicum' (also known as a dragonshead plant) in a gold frame, a small gold and teal box I will use for my earrings, and 'The Family Book of Best Loved Poems' by David L. George. I probably spent around $9, not too shabby! I want to go again next Saturday to look for some mugs and more portraits.

Home sick

Is it possible to crave an apartment? Lately I've been craving my own place, I want an apartment of my own so badly. And, unfortunately, Google images doesn't count.

TOWN!

For those of you who weren't aware, Courtney Welbon is my best friend and her band, TOWN, has been working on their singles music video for the past few months. I went to their first shoot which was in down town at the Gibson show room (amazing!). They just finished shooting the second half and everyone is so anxious for editing to be done so we can all see it! Here's a little sneak peak of another song, one of my favorites actually, just to get everyone ready for the real deal. I'm so proud of them! Congrats Court and yay for TOWN! Enjoy :)

A big zit and a busted nose

Today is not going so swell. Only one way to go from here, let's hope this day turns around.

Yesterday

... was amazing! I ended up helping out for a little while at my best friends garage sale and to cut the story short, she is basically trying to raise $500 to donate clean water to Haiti. If you care to help, it will be greatly appreciated, then click the link above and read all about it! After I left her house I picked up another friend of mine and we headed to the Pinecrest Gardens Art Festival where we walked around the gardens, surrounded by nature and all kinds of art.
Once we walked the full festival we walked back to my house, made sandwiches, filled our water bottles up and hit the road once again. We made a quick side stop at our local fruit stand to pick up some smoothies, guacamole, bean salsa, and tasty gluten free chips. Back on the road we were headed toward our destination: The Cemetery... also known as Pinewood (Cocoplum) Cemetery.
We found a hidden bench and enjoyed our meal there and afterwards we walked the cemetery reading each tombstone and the history of Pinewood. It is such a cool story, my friend and I were fascinated and quite frankly outraged by what the cemetery had been through but we were happy to have spent time there and learn appreciatively about it.
After the cemetery we basically drove around South Miami enjoying the day. It really was perfect. I hope you all had a wonderful day as well and that today goes just the same!

Chilly weather

There's a cold front in Miami this weekend! I'm thinking of spending the day at an art festival or taking photos in a quiet cemetery (probably a little of both). Later today I'm off to Ft. Laudie to visit my vegan cousin and his vegan dog! Strange family? Nahhh. We're normal :)

Happy Friday!

Sleep has been calling my name this past (long) week, I'm so ready for the weekend.

Skillz

This man is a genius. No, really...he is. I'm obviously not his only fan but, like everyone else, I really admire his work. Lately I've been showing an interest in surfing photography (because of my vacation in Panama) so I've been somewhat experimenting with my camera. I was very limited with what I could do because of my lenses' lack of zoom capabilities but I'm pretty happy with how most of them came out. I'll be sharing them once they're all uploaded. In the mean time, you all should check out Jeff Divine's site.

I'm back!

It feels so good to be home but I'm already missing the beautiful beaches of Venao and the always bustling Panama City. I had such an incredible trip and I cannot wait to go back! I hope all of you had a wonderful holiday vacation and I wish you a happy New Year! Here's to a memorable 2012, keep up your resolutions whatever they may be!
